2004 MONARCH's MESSAGE
  JUST A WORD OR TWO

The past has been good to us, the past has been bad to us and sometimes quite appallingly indifferent. What mortal can truthfully say on their last Day of Judgment that their days were better than another's? Only the ones holding the Enchanted Lantern to light their way will approach the truth.  I say we should move forward, live for the living-moment and make a better tomorrow. The future on the far horizon still looks bright to me.

Like the bear, I'm going over the mountain to see what I can see, and you are all welcome to come along.

        -- James Vassar, Monarch 2004

A bit of ancient wisdom for you to remember…
Take time to work -- It is the price of success,
Take time to think -- It is the source of power.
Take time to play -- It is the secret of perpetual youth.
Take time to read -- It is the foundation of wisdom.
Take time to be friendly -- It is the road to happiness.
Take time to love and be loved -- It is the privilege of gods.
Take time to share -- Life is too short to be selfish.
Take time to laugh – Laughter is the music of the soul.
        - - Irish prayer, author unknown, variously quoted
In closing,
some old words of sympathy and goodfellowship…
There are good ships,
and there are wood ships,
They are ships that sail the sea.
But the best ships, are friendships,
And may they always be.

May the hinges of our friendship never grow rusty.
